An opportunity for us to together explore the highlights of the Catechism of the Catholic Church. We'll be using "The Adult Catechism of the Catholic Church". The original Catechism of the Catholic Church, promoted by Pope John Paul the Second, was written effectively for bishops to help them understand and to make sure that theology was clear and made, relevant to the people with whom they're responsible.
They took in the United States that catechism and made it available to you and to me. So that layperson, those priests, deacons, religious, all could have the teachings of the Catholic Church ready to hand and the language that we're most comfortable with and with the nuances of the language that speak to us, the Catechism provides for us Orthodox teaching. You know, one of the challenges for us in the church today is there's so much available on the internet, there's so much that's published in print, and it's hard to tell what's true. Catholic teaching. The Catechism of the Catholic Church is that resource that allows us to share what it is that we truly believe. Each week we'll share.
We'll go for the knowledge that the church shares to watch with us through both Scripture and tradition, as reflected in the Catechism. The Catechism is wonderfully divided into four parts. If you look at the table of contents, the first part is about the creed that is our Faith professed. The second, we'll look at the sacraments, and that is our faith celebrated. The third part, and very important for us Christian morality, the Faith as lived in our day to day lives, that our homes are our workplaces and in our culture. And the last critically important piece for us, the Faith is prayer.
And so we cover the entirety of our Christian life, what it means to be a Christian disciple, whether you can watch the whole series or occasionally drop in for a series, the best way is to subscribe and give yourselves the opportunity to take advantage of all of this series that we produce. Perhaps we'll have 52 independent sections that you can watch time and again to reflect and to share. When people ask you, what is the Catholic Church teach about this or that? One thing that I can assure you is that over time, whether it's the one episode or 52 episodes, if you spend time with the catechism, if we spend time together reflecting on our hope, is it at the end of every episode, you will indeed be renewed.
