Sisters and brothers. Jesus, the light to the nations. We've just celebrated Epiphany, and this week is the unfolding of Epiphany. Using the first letter of John in our daily masses. Our readings this week we remember that John tells us God is love. And in this week we continue to hear time and again that God is Love.
The light in the darkness. So often, when we use the word light, it's not very meaningful to us unless we compare it to the times of darkness. The reality is, for many people in our world, and some of us, this is a time of particular darkness. Epiphany reminds us that even in the darkness, we know that there is a light, and that light is the love of God for each one of us.
So this week, whether we are experiencing the joy and the continuing joy of the Christmas season or a particular personal darkness, let us always remember the light of the world, the light of the world as God's Love with us.
