Casa Juan Diego/Houston Catholic Worker is dedicated to providing compassionate hospitality to vulnerable individuals and families in Houston. Its facilities include a center for women and children, a men’s shelter, a clinic, a house for the sick, and a social services center. At the heart of Casa Juan Diego’s mission is the principle of extending a warm welcome to those on the margins of society. They offer essential support to immigrants and refugees who may not have access to government assistance. Through their daily free medical care services and weekly food distribution, they strive to uplift over 500 individuals and families weekly. Believing in the dignity and well-being of every person in our community drives the commitment to care and aid. Nourishing Hearts: Casa Juan Diego Food Can Donation Drive

At St. Theresa Catholic Church, we are excited to launch an exceptional food donation drive for Casa Juan Diego’s pantry. Casa Juan Diego tirelessly serves those in need within our community, and your contribution can significantly impact the lives of many.

How can you participate?

It is simple! Next time you come to Mass, consider bringing non-perishable food items and leaving them in the designated basket before the altar. These food cans will directly support Casa Juan Diego’s efforts to provide food and assistance to families facing difficult times. We welcome contributions of dry beans (1 or 2-pound bags), hearty soups, dry rice (1 or 2-pound bags), canned tuna or chicken, peanut butter, boxed dry cereal, pasta sauce, canned fruit (all types), canned vegetables (all types), dry pasta, canned peas
canned corn, green beans, tomatoes, baby wipes, and baby diapers.

Your generous donations can make a real difference, providing nourishment and hope to those less fortunate. Let us unite as a parish community to extend our love and support to Casa Juan Diego and those they serve. Join us in this heartwarming endeavor to positively change our community. Almsgiving: St Theresa Sandwich Ministry

We invite you to join our Sandwich Ministry each Tuesday. To participate, please make individually wrapped sandwiches or prepare a sack lunch (including a sandwich, chips, and fruit) and bring it to St. Theresa’s office by 9:00 a.m. any Tuesday morning. You might even drop them off Monday afternoon until 6:00 p.m.
