"Contribute to the needs of the holy ones,j exercise hospitality. " (Romans 12:13)
Ushers act to sincerely welcome people to each liturgical celebration. They perform various duties depending on the celebration and time of year.
The ministry of ushers is one of the oldest lay ministries of the Catholic Church. Even in the time of Christ, there were doorkeepers of the temple who were the precursors to today’s ministry.
Ushers have an important role as they are the people chosen to reflect the warmth and welcome of Christ himself. Always conscious of Christ’s words: “I was a stranger and you welcomed me” (Matthew 25:35), ushers are friendly and open people, who play a significant role in the welcoming atmosphere of St. Theresa.
The Usher ministry is open to all women, men, and students over the age of 14.
St. Theresa Catholic Church is actively recruiting ushers. If you feel called to the ministry, please contact Enrique Benitez at e.benitez@sttheresa.cc
