Ushers

Welcome to the Usher Ministry at St. Theresa Catholic Church, where we embrace the call to hospitality and extend a warm welcome to all who attend our liturgical celebrations. Drawing inspiration from the words of Romans 12:13, “Contribute to the needs of the holy ones, exercise hospitality,” our ushers play a crucial role in creating a welcoming atmosphere.

As one of the oldest lay ministries in the Catholic Church, the role of ushers is deeply rooted in tradition. Just as temple doorkeepers in the time of Christ preceded this ministry, today’s ushers continue the legacy of warmly welcoming parishioners and visitors alike.

Ushers fulfill various duties based on the type of celebration and time of year, ensuring a smooth and comfortable experience for all. With a deep understanding of the words of Christ in Matthew 25:35, “I was a stranger, and you welcomed me,” our ushers exemplify the warmth and acceptance of Christ himself.

We invite women, men, and students over 14 to join the Usher Ministry and be part of this essential ministry. Your friendly and open presence will contribute to the welcoming atmosphere that defines St. Theresa Catholic Church.
